Anam Cara Fasgadh is a Scottish charity based in Argyll, founded in 2018 to bring compassion, respite, and hope to families bereaved through the loss of a baby, child, or young person.
Through Poppy’s Place — our peaceful caravan at Tralee Bay Holiday Park on Scotland’s west coast — and the memorial events we host, we have supported more than 100 families from across the UK. Our vision is to expand this support through a network of safe, nurturing spaces across the country where grieving families can rest, reflect, and heal.
We are now seeking new Directors to join our Board and help shape the next chapter of our journey.
As a Director, you will:
Guide the charity’s strategy, values, and long-term vision
Ensure good governance, transparency, and financial sustainability
Champion equality, inclusion, and best practice
Build partnerships with individuals, businesses, and organisations to grow awareness and support
What you’ll gain:
A chance to make a real difference in the lives of bereaved families
Strategic, governance, and leadership experience
Opportunities to expand your network locally and nationally
The reward of using your time and talents to support a cause rooted in compassion
Commitment: Around 4 Board meetings a year (mix of Zoom and in-person), plus our AGM and occasional events. The role is voluntary, but pre-agreed travel expenses are reimbursed.
We are particularly interested in welcoming individuals with experience in:
~ Business Planning
~ Strategic Planning
~ Fundraising
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences, from anywhere in the UK. Empathy, commitment, and a belief in our mission are essential.
To apply, please complete the form below, explaining why you’d like to join the Board and how your skills and experience align with the role. We will then send you an application pack.
Together, we can ensure that no family walks the journey of grief alone.
