Our Charity Partners

Big Steps for Small Feet - 10 charities scaling Ben Nevis at Night

Working Together Since Our Foundation

Since Anam Cara Fasgadh was founded in 2018, collaboration has been at the heart of everything we do. We have always believed that families experiencing grief are best supported when charities and organisations work together ~ sharing knowledge, amplifying voices, and strengthening the support available to those who need it most.

These partnerships reflect who we are as a charity: rooted in community, strengthened by collaboration, and united in our mission to ensure that no family faces grief alone.

In September 2019, this commitment to partnership was reflected when we were invited by our dear friend and supporter John Finnie MSP to attend the Scottish Parliament to share the vision for Anam Cara Fasgadh. On that day, we stood alongside a wide range of charities and organisations who, like us, are dedicated to supporting children, babies, and families. These included Child Bereavement UK, Richmond’s Hope, Star for Harris, Sands Lothian, Sands UK, Maternal & Infant Health, the Chief Nursing Officer Directorate, Bliss, Twins Trust, and CLIC Sargent. Coming together in this space reinforced the importance of collective working and shared purpose.

That same year, we invited fellow charities to join us for a night-time climb of Ben Nevis, an act of remembrance, solidarity, and fundraising. Bliss, Child Bereavement UK, The Lullaby Trust, Sands Lothian, Sands UK, Star for Harris, Together for Shorter Lives, Tommy’s, and Twins Trust answered that call. Although the pandemic paused the challenge, in June 2021 we were finally able to come together ~ to celebrate our children, honour their lives, and raise vital funds through shared commitment and compassion.

When we opened Poppy’s Place in 2022 and began welcoming bereaved families into our wee haven, our commitment to partnership working continued to grow. As awareness of our services increased, other charities, NHS services, and organisations began referring families to us, recognising the value of the compassionate support we offer.

In turn, we work closely with these partners to ensure families receive the right support at the right time. Grief is not a linear journey, and no single organisation can meet every need. Where appropriate, we gently signpost families to our partner charities and services, helping them access specialist, ongoing, or complementary support as they continue navigating their grief.

These trusted relationships allow us to provide a more holistic and joined-up approach to care, ensuring that families feel supported rather than passed on, and reassured that help remains available beyond our own services.

Below, you will find a list of the charities and organisations we are proud to work alongside ~ partnerships built on shared values, mutual respect, and a collective commitment to ensuring no family has to face grief alone. Click on each thumbnail for full details including how to contact them.
