St Conan’s Kirk Christmas Tree Festival

St Conan’s Kirk Christmas Tree Festival 2025

Friday 28 – Sunday 30 November, 10am – 6pm

Now in its twelfth year, the St Conan’s Kirk Christmas Tree Festival has become one of Argyll’s most loved community events. What began in 2014 as a small celebration of light and creativity has grown into a truly magical spectacle, now featuring over 70 beautifully decorated trees and welcoming thousands of visitors across the weekend.

Held each year on the first weekend in Advent, the festival marks the beginning of a season of hope, reflection and renewal. Advent is a time when we pause to prepare our hearts for Christmas — a time to honour love, remembrance, and togetherness, even in the midst of winter’s dark days.

Our Tree of Love and Remembrance

Each year, we take part in the festival by creating a tree that reflects love, memory, and community. This year, we hope to make our tree even more beautiful and poignant.

We invite bereaved families to be part of this special display by adding a bauble graphic in memory of their baby or child. Each bauble will include their name and significant date(s) — a small but shining tribute to a life forever loved and remembered.

The baubles will be printed, laminated, and placed on our tree, where they will catch the soft light and stand as symbols of love and remembrance. As thousands of visitors walk through the festival, they will see these names and be invited to say them aloud — keeping each child’s light alive.

If you would like a bauble added to the tree, please fill out the form below. You can also visit our Facebook page HERE to see an example of what the bauble will look like.

Together, these small tokens will create a tree that shines not only with light, but with love — a beacon of remembrance in the heart of the festive season.

About St Conan’s Kirk

Perched on the tranquil shores of Loch Awe, St Conan’s Kirk is a hidden gem in the heart of Argyll. This extraordinary church blends an astonishing range of architectural styles — from Romanesque arches to Gothic spires — all woven together with imaginative and often humorous details.

Built with devotion and creativity, the Kirk offers a sense of peace and contemplation to all who enter. Its Grade A listing confirms its national importance, and it has become one of Argyll’s top visitor attractions, drawing people from near and far to experience its beauty and serenity.

We warmly invite you to visit this year’s festival — to share in the joy of community, the beauty of creativity, and the gentle light of remembrance that shines at the start of Advent.
