Building a lasting retreat in memory of Eilidh Beth

Highland Haven Appeal

The Directors are delighted to announce the launch of Anam Cara Fasgadh's new fundraising appeal to establish a permanent retreat caravan at Nairn Lochloy Holiday Park.

In September 2026, Susan and Andrew, alongside their children Charis and Noah, will undertake a 30-mile walk from Appin to Fort William in memory of their daughter and sister, Eilidh Beth, with funds raised going towards the new caravan. The walk will take place around what would have been Eilidh Beth's 16th birthday on 24th September. Every mile represents their commitment to ensuring that other families facing loss have access to the same opportunities for rest, reflection and support that have become central to the charity's work.

Since 2022, Anam Cara Fasgadh's family retreats in Argyll have provided bereaved families with precious time away from the pressures of everyday life. They offer space to breathe, to remember, to reconnect, and to find moments of peace alongside others who understand the realities of grief.

The Directors have now been given the opportunity to secure a new caravan at Nairn Lochloy, creating a dedicated retreat that will serve bereaved families for many years to come.

The total fundraising target is £69,000.

This includes:

  • £55,000 to purchase the caravan.

  • £14,000 to cover the first year's running costs, including site fees, utilities, cleaning, groceries and welcome provisions for visiting families.

The new retreat will be in memory of Eilidh Beth, whose life (along with her sister Alex’s) continues to inspire the work Andrew, Susan, Noah & Charis do for Anam Cara Fasgadh and the support offered by the charity to bereaved families across Scotland.

This appeal is about more than a caravan. It is about securing a place where families can gather themselves after loss, find solace in Scotland's landscapes, and create new memories while carrying old ones with them.

By supporting the Highland Haven Appeal, donors will help create a lasting legacy in Eilidh's name and ensure that bereaved families continue to have access to a safe and welcoming retreat for years to come.

But we cannot do this without you.

Whether you choose to make a donation, organise your own fundraiser, sponsor part of the family's 30-mile walk, or simply share the appeal with others, every contribution brings us closer to opening the doors of Eilidh's Haven.

Together, we can create a place of refuge, remembrance and care for families who need it most.
